Last year, during my trip to Phuket and Bangkok with my mother, we booked a stay at Sukhothai Bangkok. I initially reserved the Executive type room for more space, but we were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to the Club Room upon check-in. It felt like winning the lottery! The room was incredibly luxurious, with a spacious layout and a stunning view of the city. We were extremely grateful for the unexpected upgrade.
At the time of my booking, there was a promotion that included a voucher for hotel amenities. After contemplating where to use the voucher, we decided to indulge in a massage at the hotel’s Botanica Spa. My mother opted for a Thai Massage, while I went for the Sukhothai Signature Massage. Both massages were absolutely amazing, and if I had the means, I would have gladly received them every day. The Thai Massage lasted for 1 hour and 30 minutes and cost 3,000 Baht, while the Signature Massage also lasted for 1 hour and 30 minutes but cost 4,500 Baht. Despite the steep price, the Sukhothai voucher made it worthwhile. The massages were truly exceptional.
The TV and sound system in the room were provided by Harman Kardon, and we were pleasantly surprised to find YTN playing on the television. Additionally, the hotel even provided a daily English newspaper for us. The upgraded Club Wing room was fantastic, with each wall equipped with USB ports. This was a significant improvement compared to our previous stay at Le Meridien in Phuket, where there was a shortage of electrical outlets. The abundance of USB ports was much appreciated.
The amenities in the bathroom were of high quality, featuring Bottega Veneta products with a lovely and soothing wood scent. The bathrobe provided in the room was exceptionally comfortable. It was so good that my mother even suggested buying one to take home, but upon inquiring about the price, we quickly abandoned the idea when the club room rate for one night was mentioned. We were content to enjoy the luxurious amenities during our stay. The room was impeccably cleaned, with the housekeeping staff leaving no trace of moisture on any surface.
The lounge area and swimming pool at Sukhothai Bangkok were so enjoyable that we decided not to venture far from the hotel during our time in Bangkok. My mother was particularly disappointed that Le Meridien in Phuket did not have a lounge. We had a delightful time sampling the beverages available in the lounge. On the first day, we ordered cocktails and decided to visit nearby temples the following day before returning to the hotel. The cocktail selection was impressive, and the lounge staff remembered our preferences and even recommended additional cocktails that paired well with the cheese they served. The lounge staff curated the food selection with great care, providing an exceptional dining experience. The lounge itself was adorned with a wide variety of cheeses, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the cuisine changed daily, depending on the chef’s style. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the lounge.
We also had the opportunity to try the finger foods served in the lounge while waiting for our checkout. They were delicious, even in the midday hours. The hotel arranged for a driver to take us to the airport and coordinated the meeting time in the hotel lobby. The attention to detail by the Club Wing staff was truly impressive. From beginning to end, our stay at Sukhothai Bangkok was perfect, with the staff taking great care of us.
The swimming pool at Sukhothai Bangkok was stunning, and we marveled at its beauty both during the day and at sunset. The attentive staff catered to our every need, ensuring that we were well-fed and pampered throughout our stay. It was hard to believe that we could experience such a delightful culinary journey without leaving the hotel. Sukhothai Bangkok exceeded our expectations, making our trip even more memorable. My mother was thoroughly satisfied, enjoying every meal, and now we eagerly await the day we can return to Thailand.
