The breakfast at the Horizon Club Lounge is offered with a limited selection compared to the first-floor restaurant. However, they serve mostly preferred menu options, so it was satisfactory. If you desire any egg dishes, you can place an order at your table, and they will bring it to you.
What stood out the most was the overcrowding in the first-floor restaurant. Additionally, it was concerning to see many Indian, Arab, and American tourists roaming around without masks and gloves, which made me quite cautious. The hotel staff members were friendly, but they seemed very busy, so I felt a bit hesitant to bother them.
On the other hand, the Horizon Club Lounge provided a serene and peaceful atmosphere where I could enjoy a pleasant and attentive service while seated. The presentation of the omelette was also different from the first-floor restaurant. They plated it together with mushrooms, asparagus, and roasted tomatoes.
Contrary to my concerns, the breakfast at Shangri-La Hotel turned out to be delicious. The almond croissant, in particular, was outstanding. It could easily rival the croissants at Jeju HaeBichi.

While staying at the Shangri-La Hotel, there are a few nearby tourist attractions that I would recommend exploring. Firstly, the hotel is conveniently located near the famous Myeongdong shopping district, which is always bustling with activity and offers a wide range of shopping options, from luxury brands to street vendors selling local products. It’s a great place to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Seoul and indulge in some retail therapy.
For those interested in history and culture, a visit to the Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must. This grand palace, built during the Joseon Dynasty, showcases traditional Korean architecture and offers guided tours that provide insight into the country’s rich history. Additionally, the nearby Bukchon Hanok Village is a charming neighborhood where you can wander through narrow alleyways lined with traditional Korean houses. It’s a fantastic opportunity to experience the traditional way of life in Seoul.
If you’re a food lover, you won’t want to miss out on the vibrant culinary scene in Seoul. Insadong, known for its traditional teahouses and street food stalls, offers a delightful array of local snacks, such as tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and gimbap (seaweed rice rolls). It’s a great place to try authentic Korean cuisine and explore the unique flavors of the country.
For those seeking a bit of nature amidst the urban landscape, Namsan Park is a beautiful retreat located in the heart of Seoul. You can take a leisurely stroll along the scenic trails, visit the iconic N Seoul Tower for panoramic views of the city, or simply relax in one of the park’s tranquil gardens. It’s a perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some peace and serenity.
Lastly, if you’re interested in contemporary art, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art is worth a visit. This modern museum showcases a diverse collection of Korean and international artworks, ranging from traditional pieces to contemporary installations. It’s a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the creativity and talent of both local and international artists.
Overall, staying at the Shangri-La Hotel provides easy access to a variety of attractions in Seoul. Whether you’re interested in shopping, history, food, nature, or art, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this vibrant city.
