On Sunday, we had a delicious bowl of Kkundaejang-style hot noodles for lunch before heading to the Jjatjjak Market. Originally, we planned to take a bus from across the street, which would have taken about 50 minutes with the air-conditioned bus ride. However, because we felt hot after eating the noodles, we decided to take a taxi instead. Since we didn’t know the taxi fare, we turned on the Bolt app and it showed the fare as 164 baht in Economy class. Five minutes later, a taxi arrived, and we comfortably arrived at the Jjatjjak Market after a 20-minute ride.
The market was surprisingly huge! My husband jokingly asked if we were still at the market, as we had only gone halfway around. Feeling the heat, we spotted a shopping mall nearby and decided to take shelter from the heat by going inside.
It was a relief to rest and enjoy the coolness of the shopping mall. There were plenty of things to see and explore.
Furthermore, I found it convenient that the shopping mall offered free restroom facilities instead of paying 10 baht like outside.
We did some brief shopping, picking up a swimsuit, a shirt for my husband, and a gift for our niece. After a few more purchases, we started to feel tired and decided to head back.
When we left for the hotel, we noticed there were many taxis waiting in front. We successfully negotiated a fare of 150 baht for the ride back to the hotel, which was originally quoted as 200 baht. Our negotiation skills paid off!
