On the 14th day, the morning dawned. I’m feeling a bit groggy probably due to drinking a little too much last night. Nonetheless, I stick to my morning routine. Although the hotel room has an ocean view, the sea isn’t as refreshing as in other hotels. I take a shower with hot water and head to the 23rd-floor restaurant for breakfast.
Upon arrival, something seems off. It’s not a buffet-style restaurant. I wonder if I came to the wrong place and look around the restaurant. As soon as I sit down, a staff member brings me the menu.
It seems like I have to choose one out of six options. Needing some hangover relief, I order beef noodles and shrimp wonton soup. The food arrives promptly.
There is a salt and pepper shaker on the table, so I lightly sprinkle some pepper. Oops, I only took a picture of the noodles, the soup is quite rich too. The portions of noodles are not as plentiful as I expected. I enjoy the thick and flavorful noodles and then savor the delicious shrimp wonton soup. For dessert, I have an iced Americano and watermelon.
After finishing the meal, I return to my room. When I went to the restaurant, I hung the “Please clean the room” sign on the doorknob, and the housekeeper must have checked because they knock before entering. They thoroughly clean the room. It’s expected, but I still need to leave a tip. Seeing the room cleaned makes me feel happy. I lie down on the bed for a while and realize it’s already lunchtime. Since I still feel like I need to recover from the previous night, I order a Yentafo through Grab.
I forgot to ask for it to be less spicy. I struggle a bit while eating it. It tastes good but it’s spicy. I have a cola to accompany it. After the meal, I go to the 711 for some mint-flavored chewing gum and a vitamin drink. I also buy a green-packaged sunflower seed snack.
For dinner, I plan to go to the onboard restaurant. There is still plenty of time. I make myself a refreshing iced Americano.
Savoring my iced coffee, I pass the time by rolling around on the bed. At 5 o’clock, I shower and get ready to go out. I call for a Bolt and head to Bali Hai Pier. Lately, whenever I call Bolt, the pickup truck comes more frequently.
Upon arrival at the pier, I confirm my voucher and wait for the boat. The sky is gradually getting darker. I can see the Hilton Hotel in the distance. After some time, the boat arrives. I board the boat and head towards the onboard restaurant. After a 5-minute journey on the sea, we arrive safely.
I order Pot Kapao Moo Sap, Tom Yum, small bottles of Leo beer, and Coke Zero. I enjoy the delicious food. The prices in the onboard restaurant are a bit higher compared to other places, but the taste, atmosphere, and value are well worth it. I listen to pop songs and Thai music while continuing my meal. I also take breaks to capture the beautiful night view.
In addition to being an onboard restaurant, you can also do some small-scale squid fishing. Don’t be surprised if you hear some noise from the nearby tables when you’re having your meal, as they might have caught some squids.
Before the boat leaves, they hand out tickets during the voucher check. This ticket allows you to go squid fishing. After finishing the meal, I board the boat again and return to the pier. I call for a Bolt and head back to the hotel. Maybe because I had my meal on the boat, I start to get a slight headache. Even though I didn’t do much throughout the day, I feel tired. I turn on Netflix and continue watching the drama I’ve been watching. However, as I start to doze off, I decide to wash up and get back to it. Soon, I fall asleep… Thus, the 14th day passes by calmly. 🙂
