I arrived in Bangkok at 1 pm after taking an evening flight with Jin Air. Despite the long journey, I didn’t feel tired at all, haha. I took a taxi to the Carlton Hotel. The hotel is located near Asok Station, and it takes about 15 minutes to walk to Terminal 21. Convenient and not too far!
First impressions of the Carlton Hotel were great. The lobby is grand, and the whole place is impeccably clean. After arriving, I freshened up, had some cup noodles, and went straight to bed.
The next day, I went swimming and then headed to Terminal 21 from Asok Station. I had lunch at Hevajeez and tried the Pad Thai Curry and fried rice. They were absolutely delicious. The crab meat was abundant in the dishes. I highly recommend visiting Terminal 21 and trying them out. Though the prices are a bit on the higher side, I saw a group of Koreans there.
While walking, it started to rain suddenly, so I went into a restaurant called “Phara.” It’s very famous, but unfortunately, the food was not tasty at all. We ordered two popular dishes and a cola, but they charged extra for taxes, making it quite expensive. If you really want to try it, I recommend checking reviews before ordering. Personally, I would skip it.
If you’re in the mood for something heavy, I highly recommend “Prime Burger,” which is just a 30-second walk from the Carlton Hotel. Their burgers are delicious and go well with beer. I ordered the Stockholm Single, and it was just right. I would love to have it again. The prices are on the higher side, but it’s definitely worth it.
There are no food pictures, only signboard pictures, but I want to mention “Arai Sundae” near Asok Station. They have Ddukbokki, but what I really wanted was Sundae Bokkeum (stir-fried blood sausage) with soju. It was more expensive than in Korea, but the portion was generous, and the food was tasty. Highly recommended.
After checking out of the Carlton Hotel, I checked into the Bangkok Marriott Marquis, which I had been looking forward to. It’s within walking distance from the Carlton, and the breakfast is delicious. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. No regrets! They have a deep and spacious swimming pool, perfect for those who enjoy swimming.
There are also great mango dessert places nearby. You must try the mango sticky rice. It’s thick and sweet. Perfect for a late-night snack. I also had some skewers from street vendors and enjoyed shrimp and crab at Somboon Seafood.
I’ve already made reservations for Bangkok next year. Looking forward to a different travel experience.
If you’re staying at the Carlton Hotel near Asok Station in Bangkok, there are several nearby attractions and activities that I would recommend for tourists. One must-visit spot is Terminal 21, just a 15-minute walk away. This modern shopping mall offers a wide range of shops and restaurants, including Hevajeez, where you can enjoy delicious Pad Thai Curry and fried rice. Despite the slightly higher prices, the dishes are filled with abundant crab meat and definitely worth trying.
However, I would advise caution when it comes to dining at “Phara” restaurant. Although it is well-known, the food there was not up to par during my visit. The prices were high, and the taste was disappointing. If you’re considering dining there, it’s best to check recent reviews beforehand. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it.
For a satisfying and tasty meal, “Prime Burger” is an excellent choice. Located just a 30-second walk from the Carlton Hotel, this restaurant offers delicious burgers that pair perfectly with a refreshing beer. I particularly enjoyed the Stockholm Single burger and would love to have it again. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality and flavors make it a worthwhile experience.
If you’re craving Korean food, “Arai Sundae” near Asok Station is a great option. They serve not only Ddukbokki but also the flavorful Sundae Bokkeum (stir-fried blood sausage) with soju. Although slightly more expensive than in Korea, the generous portions and tasty food definitely make it a recommended choice.
If you decide to stay at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis, which is also conveniently located near the Carlton Hotel, there are numerous attractions and activities to enjoy. One highlight is the hotel’s delicious breakfast, accompanied by friendly staff and clean rooms. The Marriott Marquis also boasts a deep and spacious swimming pool, perfect for those who enjoy swimming.

Try the mango sticky rice, which is thick and sweet, making it a perfect treat for a late-night snack. Additionally, don’t forget to explore the vibrant street food scene and indulge in some mouthwatering skewers from local vendors. For seafood lovers, Somboon Seafood is a popular spot to savor shrimp and crab delicacies.
