Day 2 Bangkok Tour Day 1▣ Route planning all night long- Because I made the hotel reservation close to the trip, I was unable to find accommodation in the Rattanakosin area, which has many tourist attractions.
I had to be satisfied with a hotel that was about 400m away from Sathorn Pier (Tar Sathorn) and 140m away from Saphan Taksim Station.
– (hopeful)On the first day, visit the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and Asiatique by water bus and have dinner.
The next day, use the BTS to see King Power Mahata Khon (Skywalk) at Chong Nonsi Station and eat at the famous restaurant Northeast.
See Lumpini Park at BTS Sala Daeng Station, which is the next station (someone said there are a lot of lizards, so it’s a perfect fit for children)Jim Thompson House (traditional Thai house and silk viewing).
– I have to guide while my husband and child are asleep, soI check the ferry route using Google Maps.
There aren’t many accommodation options for the second day, so we just book at Center Point Silom Hotel.
– My husband, who is a neat guy, made me take a shower and brush my teeth, so my son didn’t fall asleep until 1:30am.
but it was unfortunate.
– I woke up at 7:30am because I had to catch the boat at least 8:20 to meet at the ticket office of the Royal Palace at 9:00.
I reheated the lunch box I bought yesterday in the microwave in the room, and it suited my taste well, so everyone ate it well.
7-Eleven lunch box is the best!(It’s an old hotel, but like a pension, there were spoons and forks in the drawers, and the amenities seemed to be very good, including a microwave.
)- When I asked to keep my bag, I said I would keep my bag in the same room as I had a reservation for one more night.
– I wanted to ask for a higher floor because I couldn’t see the river view, but I was in a hurry so I left the hotel.
In the afternoon, I couldn’t change because the room was full.
▣ Take a water bus and join the royal palace tour- The way to the dock to take the water bus was closer and easier than expected, and before entering the dock,There was an offer to take a long tail boat to all major tourist attractions for 300 baht, but the tour was already booked.
Just ignore it and pass by.
(In hindsight, it might have been much easier to take a long tail boat.
)- At the dock,I told them about Wanggung Pier Tachang, paid 30baht per person (*90baht for 3 people), received a ticket, and the boat just arrived and got on.
As I boarded the cool, air-conditioned boat, the crew tore my ticket in half to confirm its use, and I took a seat.
I went for about 25 minutes and felt comfortable for a while after seeing the floating houses and the unique ICONSIAM department store building.
– A lot of people got off at Wat Arun dock, and a lot more people got off at Tachang next, and we also got off to go to the Grand Palace.
7:59am when getting off the ship.
Because of the tour time, I turned on Google Maps and rushed around so I arrived 5 minutes late.
Fortunately, other tour customers weren’t annoyed.
When I buy tickets to the palace,Even though I showed my child at the ticket booth, the ticket is for 2 adults only and children get free admission.
(Admission fee 500 baht for adults*1000 baht for 2 people)- The guide is a round-looking woman who appears to be in her early 60s.
He explains with a calm, smiling face, in a warm teacher style.
The impressive explanation is that Angkor Wat was originally owned by Thailand, but was divided into Cambodia when the land was given at the request of Western powers.
So, out of regret, the king made a miniature version of Angkor Wat and placed it in the palace.
– The guide saidthat the royal palace ticket includes a free performance at the Royal Theater, and because it is the weekend, there is no performance today.
I told them to get off at MRT Samyot station on Mondays to Fridays or take the shuttle in front of the Grand Palace to see it.
– It is a rainy season with no rain due to El Niño, so the daytime temperature exceeds 35 degrees and sweat pours down like rain.
As we were halfway through the tour, the first grade girl on the tour and my son were getting groggy in the scorching sun.
– Still, there was a moment when my son’s eyes sparkled: the story of Hanuman, the origin of the story of Son Wukong in Journey to the West.
heheIt is said that God created an army of monkeys by pulling out hair and blowing it to help King Rama, who came down in human form (totally Son Goku!)The lama was handsome and had several wives, but do the pictures of his children have animal faces? The body is human and the legs are mermaid tail.
– I went into the Buddhist temple where Wat Phra Kaeo was, bowed, got some air from the fan, and was given a 20-minute break, but my son fainted halfway.
– When the tour started again, my son was almost out of his mind and shaking.
The family of another first-year elementary school girl stopped the tour midway and left the palace.
I don’t know what kind of greed I had, but I dragged my son around to the end, hoping that it would end soon.
(Sorry, son~)- Since it was Sunday, many people chose the weekend market, Cjakduchak, as their next course.
To be honest, we knew that there wasn’t much to buy or see in the Thai market other than food, so we left it out of the course.
– As I was leaving the palace, I was walking and comforting my son, and as soon as I saw a restaurant with air conditioning, I went in.
Around 11:40am▣ Lunch- I never thought it would be this hot.
I never thought my son could stand it like this.
The child’s tongue is dry and appears to be dehydrated.
When I entered the restaurant, I first orderedmy childa watermelon shake (135 baht).
Tom yum goong (180 baht) chosen bymy husband , stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts (180 baht) chosen by my son, 2 bowls of rice (50 baht), 1 bottle of water (25 baht)(Lunch total 570 baht)- My son, whose face is red, quickly comes back to life after drinking the watermelon shake and water, playing the proverb-telling game, and talking excitedly.
– I asked my son when he learned so many proverbs, and he said it was a “book.
” That book.
I found myself looking at comic books again after hearing that they were called Common Brothers and Sisters and Cookie Run.
Son~ Read comics or anything else diligently.
– The child eats stir-fried chicken and tom yum goong very well.
However, her husband starts to avoid Tom Yang from now on.
▣ Wat Arun~Wat Pho- My husband wants to see the reclining statue at Wat Pho.
It would have been 400m to walk from the Grand Palace to Wat Pho.
Due to a momentary lapse in judgment, I took the water bus(30baht per person *3 = 90baht)to Wat Arun and went sightseeing.
Tha Tien Pier (Wat Pho Pier) is under renovation.
I had a hard time going to Wat Phofrom Wat Arun Pier by Lea Kampak (river crossing boat; 5 baht per person*3=15 baht).
Now that I think about it, I’m stupid.
It would have been nice to just walk 400m to Wat Pho, then cross to Lea Kamphak and see Wat Arun, then take a boat and go straight to the accommodation.
For no reason, I took the boat to Lea Kampak twice.
– When we arrived at Wat Arun, the child was so dazed that it was so hot that he wouldn’t move and made a fuss about going to the hotel.
While comforting the child, I took a quick walk around Wat Arun.
Whether they are taking profile photos or wedding photos, there are a lot of people dressed in traditional attire and accompanied by a professional(?) cameraman.
– I found and sat down at Arun Cafe right in front.
The air conditioner isn’t that cool, but it’s better than the scorching sun.
-I order a decent lychee soda, honey lemon soda, and iced coffee.
I got coffee with condensed milk without even asking.
My favorite coffee.
But ah~ah~ what about other Koreans who like it.
(60baht each for drinks with ice)Inside the store, customers sit for over 30 minutes and change hands several times.
▣ Wat Pho- Lea Kamphak, which crosses Wat Pho, is away from the original boat dock, so look at Wat Arun and go about 200 meters further to the right.
– My son wants to hit something like a gong at the entrance to Wat Pho.
Haha, even though I’m so tired, I don’t miss this.
– The sole of the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho is decorated with mother-of-pearl and is said to have 108 defilements drawn on it.
If you go to the back of the reclining Buddha, if you pay 20baht, they will give you a bowl of coins.
Then, you can make a wish and throw a coin into one of the 108 bowls lined up against the wall.
My son and I also stand in line, insert coins one by one, and make a wish.
Perhaps because he went to a Buddhist kindergarten, my son finds these things meaningful and not boring.
– I got out of Wat Pho and caught a taxi, and they said there was a traffic jam and that it would take more than 30 minutes, but they asked for 300 baht.
At this point, I should have just gone for a ride.
I make an error in judgment again.
Take the water bus with your struggling family in tow.
Walk to Lea Kamphak dock (I even bought a bottle of water for 10baht),take Lea Kamphak (3 people 15baht) and go to Wat Arun.
From Wat Arun Pierto Sathorn Pier (90baht for 3 people), it took 30 minutes and was difficult.
▣ Hotel Suyeong-Coin Laundry- Returned to the hotel around 3:30pm.
This hotel allows swimming until 8:00 pm, and the swimming pool is located on the 7th floor.
With the excuse that my husband was in a hurry and couldn’t bring my swimsuit, I sent my husband, who hates swimming pools, with my son.
I cleaned up the house, put on swimsuit pants (I found and brought only the pants) and a sweatshirt, and went to the outdoor pool.
My husband is having fun playing with his son.
A father and son over 50 years old go down a slide together and dive into the water.
My husband said, “I didn’t know it was an outdoor swimming pool.
It’s nice.
” I’m glad he likes it too.
Looking at the forest of buildings, sweating a lot in the morning and having fun swimming.
The fatigue from the morning sun is gone.
My son is so excited, I think I can be satisfied with this.
– At 6 o’clock, clouds suddenly gather, it gets dark, the wind blows, and thick raindrops begin to fall.
In just 15 minutes, the once sunny sky became warm with dark rain clouds.
It’s an amazing experience.
He asked me to get out of the outdoor swimming pool because I couldn’t use the swimming pool if it rained, and then immediately locked the door.
End of swimming~.
– I read a review saying there was a washing machine in the hotel room, but I didn’t see one in our room, so I asked the staff if there was a shared washing machine.
Then, they said that some rooms are there and some rooms are not.
(He had to change rooms in the morning)I trusted the washing machine and only brought 3 sets of clothes, including pajamas.
When I asked about a coin laundry machine, there was a coin laundry machine at a market 1 minute away.
Carrying panties, socks, and clothes soaked in sweat from the morning, I asked the merchants at the market right next door and found a coin laundry machine.
I had to believe my eyes.
It was a coin laundry machine.
There is no lock, so you won’t know if someone takes it.
(I don’t have anything worth taking)I wonder what it means because it is written in Thai.
I was able to use it thanks to the help of the lady at the store in front (even though she couldn’t communicate).
The lady was selling fabric softener from her store (10baht) and insisted that it be added to the laundry.
After 1 hour and 30 minutes, the family refuses to touch the laundry because of the smell of softener in fresh laundry.
(We don’t usually use softener in our house)It’s 8 o’clock after I’ve finished doing some suspicious laundry and laying out the undried laundry all over the room.
▣ Asiatique- I’m belatedly going to Asiatique, so I wonder where my husband and son are going at this time.
What does it mean to say you won’t go out at night after ordering a night watch?I get angry and force my family to leave, saying they won’t even eat.
At Sathorn Pier, there is a free water bus to Asiatique until 22:30, which is also the reason I chose this hotel.
– It seems like a lot of people use the free water bus.
After waiting for about 20 minutes with over 50 other people, we boarded the boat.
Even before getting on the boat, my son started crying because his leg suddenly felt very tight.
Growing pains? Is it stiffness due to fatigue?I thought it would be okay because my son is a regular soccer player and takes 20,000 steps every day.
I guess there’s nothing I can do about the scorching sun.
Sitting on the boat, I dabbed on the antipramine I had, held on to each leg of my mom and dad, and rubbed them.
– The first thing you see when you get off at the Asia Teak dock is a large boat-shaped restaurant (it blocks the view of other restaurants on the river).
And what stands out the most is the large Ferris wheel with bright white lights.
Oh, that sounds fun.
However, my son is in a lot of pain and is almost crying because his legs are so sore from the Ferris wheel and all.
Instead of being a spoiled child, I get more anxious and quickly go to a riverside restaurant where I can avoid the loud music.
– Indoors with air conditioning,Fried fish dish (590 baht), morning glory (190 baht), fried rice (large, 250 baht)I ordered the blood clam dish (250baht) and 3 bottles of water (135baht) introduced by Nichkhun on a TV travel program.
(1665baht including 10% service charge)My husband is shocked at the price, but he yells at me to swipe my card, asking if this is how I should eat dinner.
– I diligently applied antipramine to my son’s legs before the food came.
– However, when the food came out, my son ate it up with so much deliciousness.
Now that I think about it, I have a reasonable suspicion that my blood sugar level may have dropped due to the late dinner.
– My husband, who has a short mouth, couldn’t eat the fishy, slightly undercooked Thai style clam dish.
My husband, who can’t eat anything since coming to Thailand, only eats fried fish and fried rice.
Clams and Morning Glory are metallurgy done by myself.
My son enjoys fried fish very much.
Even the fish’s spicy seasoning sauce is easily eaten.
– My sonfound a cup ice cream stand in the restaurant and ordered 2 scoops.
(160 baht).
- I leave the restaurant around 10 o’clock.
The Ferris wheel is open until 24:00 (I don’t know if it stays until later), so I’m going to go for a ride.
Foreigners pay 500baht per person.
(1500baht for 3 people) If you come this far, you should try it.
– Going up this high? The land, lights, and people visible far below.
This is how I see the night view of Bangkok, which I gave up on because I couldn’t stay around Wat Arun.
Can’t you see Wat Arun?(It’s too far~)- My son can’t hide his excitement at high altitudes, pretending it’s laughter.
Later, I get excited and dance.
My husband, who was frozen, got nervous every time the Ferris wheel scratched while my son and I were taking pictures.
In the meantime, I’m taking pictures of the night view.
– After 3 turns, it appears.
My son secretly wants to ride more, so I’ll have to stop by again next time I come to Bangkok.
.
– The free water bus to Sathorn Pier has already ended.
People still enjoy the night view on the riverside,Many of the stores inside Asiatique were closed.
I took a taxi (300baht) on the other side of the road from Asiatique andreturned to the hotel.
I feel like I did too much in one day.
– I was wondering if there was anything that would make my family’s heart beat, and there was the Asiatique Ferris Wheel.
I’m satisfied with that.
– I stay up all night and plan a route while my family is asleep.
– After experiencing it today, I think I will give up many routes so that my son and husband will not have a hard time.
