Hello there,
After being a member of this cafe for over 10 years, I finally decided to share my first review. Although my writing skills and photography are not excellent, I hope to provide some helpful tips and information.
Our travel plans always seem to change from what we initially planned, don’t they? I have been wanting to visit Phuket for a long time, but due to airline schedules and conflicting vacation dates, we ended up changing our destination to Bangkok. We also had two nieces (first time in Thailand) accompanying us, which further altered our itinerary. Our initial plan of simply enjoying the beaches and rivers went flying out the window. We unexpectedly ended up stopping by Pattaya as well. I had already visited most of the tourist attractions in Pattaya on a previous package tour, so this time we only booked tickets for the Alcazar show. We considered going on a Coral Island tour, but due to the limited time and monsoon season, we decided to let go of that idea.
With my complaining husband and two inexperienced nieces in tow, we headed to the airport with excitement. Our travel dates were from August 7th to August 9th in Pattaya and August 9th to August 12th in Bangkok.
– Pattaya –
1. Incheon Airport Terminal 1: On our departure date, August 7th, there were quite a few people due to the peak vacation season. Once we checked in and entered the terminal, it was a bit different. Many duty-free shops were closed, and only a few lounges were operating. The most surprising thing was how quickly we received the duty-free stamp. It was almost the first time I received it so fast. The process was a bit hasty. They had a place for repackaging luggage inside, which was convenient for organizing our belongings.
2. OZ 741 to Bangkok: It was an A380 plane, and the takeoff and landing were noticeably stable. They even served bibimbap as part of the in-flight meal.
3. Tai Cho Pick-up: Since there were four adults and our luggage was quite big, we booked a 10-seater van. Thanks to that, we had a comfortable ride to Pattaya in the early morning. They even drove us safely despite the rain. We gave them a modest tip of 100 baht.
4. Amari Pattaya: We chose this hotel because it had a nice swimming pool, sea view, good location, and comfortable rooms. It was great, and I will share a separate review about the hotel later.
5. Terminal 21 Pattaya, Central Marina: Terminal 21 is located behind the Amari Hotel, near Ozo North Pattaya. It only takes a short walk from the pool area. It was smaller and less crowded than Terminal 21 in Bangkok. I was a bit disappointed because I couldn’t visit Pier 21 Food Court due to other plans.
6. Central Marina: It is near Alcazar Show, but unfortunately, it was closed when we visited. There is a Big C supermarket inside.

If you’re staying at the Amari Pattaya hotel, there are several nearby tourist attractions and activities worth checking out. One of the highlights is Terminal 21 Pattaya, which is conveniently located behind the hotel. This shopping mall offers a variety of shops and restaurants, and although it’s smaller than the one in Bangkok, it’s less crowded and offers a more relaxed shopping experience. Additionally, there is a Central Marina shopping center nearby, where you can find a Big C supermarket for any grocery needs. Unfortunately, during our visit, the Central Marina was closed, so it’s worth checking the operating hours before planning a visit.
If you’re interested in catching a cultural show, the Alcazar Show is a must-see. It’s conveniently close to Central Marina and offers a vibrant and entertaining performance showcasing Thai culture and traditions. It’s a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the local entertainment scene.
For those looking to relax and unwind, don’t miss out on exploring the beautiful beaches of Pattaya. The Amari Pattaya hotel offers a stunning sea view, but there are many other beaches to explore as well. Whether you prefer the popular Pattaya Beach or the more tranquil Jomtien Beach, you’ll find ample opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying water sports. Snorkeling and diving enthusiasts can also explore nearby islands, though it’s important to consider the monsoon season and weather conditions before planning such activities.
If you’re interested in exploring more of Pattaya’s vibrant nightlife, there are numerous clubs, bars, and restaurants catering to all tastes. Walking Street is particularly famous for its lively atmosphere and variety of entertainment options. However, it’s essential to be mindful of personal safety and exercise caution when visiting crowded areas.
Overall, while Pattaya may not have been your initial destination choice, there are still plenty of enjoyable experiences to be had. From shopping at Terminal 21 and Central Marina to catching the Alcazar Show and exploring stunning beaches, Pattaya offers a diverse range of attractions and activities suitable for all types of travelers.
