Bangkok trip Shangri-La Bangkok Suite Breakfast and Fitness Review

Review of Shangri-La Bangkok Suite Breakfast and Fitness Review

1. Accommodation:

1.Accommodation:

Our family prefers resorts over hotels, so we were worried that we might be disappointed by the Bangkok hotel when we came to Hua Hin. However, we booked a suite room with a river view, and even though it was a bit dated, the suite room itself was spacious and enjoyable. The only downside was that the motor for the electric curtains was broken, so we had to open them manually. Additionally, despite being a river view, the suite room is located at the corner of the building, so the view is not as good as the regular rooms.

2. Breakfast:

There were some reviews mentioning that the breakfast was not up to par, but we decided to try all the menu items and found them quite satisfactory. Perhaps in comparison to the breakfast at the Hyatt in Hua Hin, it felt even better. We enjoyed everything except for the Indian cuisine. The omelette with spinach, in particular, was excellent.

3. Fitness Facilities:

As expected from a hotel, the fitness facilities were excellent. The equipment was well-maintained, and there were trainers and staff available. The locker room and shower facilities were also great, and there was even a hot tub and a steam sauna. Even if you are not exercising, it is worth a visit.

4. Swimming Pool:

Initially, when we looked down at the pool from our room, it didn’t seem anything special. However, when we actually went down to the pool area, we found it to be quite nice. There were two lifeguards, so we felt reassured as our kids played around.

5. Miscellaneous:

In Bangkok, it is quite concerning to see so many Westerners and Indians not wearing masks. In Hua Hin, except for Indians, most people were mindful and wore their masks properly.

Personally, I prefer avoiding crowded cities, so Bangkok feels a bit dull to me. I’m not interested in shopping either, so places like Icon Siam or The Mall are no different to me. If I had known, I would have filled my itinerary in Hua Hin and stayed near the Bangkok airport only on the last day.

For tourists staying at this accommodation in Hua Hin, there are several nearby tourist attractions and activities worth exploring. Despite your preference for resorts over hotels, Hua Hin offers a variety of options that may cater to your family’s interests.

Firstly, if you enjoy beach activities and relaxation, Hua Hin Beach is a must-visit. With its long stretch of sandy shorelines and calm waters, it provides the perfect setting for swimming, sunbathing, or even taking a leisurely stroll along the coast. There are also beachfront restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a refreshing drink or a delicious meal while soaking in the beautiful ocean views.

If you are interested in exploring cultural attractions, Wat Huay Mongkol is a renowned Buddhist temple located not far from Hua Hin. The temple is home to a giant statue of Luang Phor Thuad, a legendary Thai monk. Visitors can explore the temple grounds, admire the intricate architecture, and even partake in the local practice of making merit by offering flowers and prayers.

For nature enthusiasts, a visit to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is highly recommended. Known as the “Mountains with 300 Peaks,” this national park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, limestone caves, and beautiful beaches. You can take a hike through the park’s trails, explore the Phraya Nakhon Cave, or simply relax on the tranquil beaches.

If you are looking for a family-friendly activity, Black Mountain Water Park is an excellent option. This water park offers a wide range of thrilling water slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers that provide fun and entertainment for visitors of all ages. It’s a great way to escape the heat and enjoy a day of aquatic adventures.

Lastly, for those interested in shopping or exploring local markets, Hua Hin Night Market is definitely worth a visit. Here, you can browse through a myriad of stalls selling handicrafts, clothing, souvenirs, and enjoy a variety of delicious street food options. The vibrant atmosphere and bustling energy make it a great place to experience the local culture and pick up some unique items to take home.

Overall, while Bangkok may not be your preferred destination, Hua Hin offers a range of attractions and activities that cater to different interests. From its beautiful beaches to its cultural landmarks and exciting water parks, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this coastal town. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or cultural exploration, Hua Hin provides a memorable and diverse experience for tourists.
