Bangkok trip Grand Hyatt Erawan and the Taejo Mango Experience

Review of Grand Hyatt Erawan and the Taejo Mango Experience

I arrived in Bangkok this morning on an early flight with T’way Air. After spending one night at Canalis Airport Hotel, I made my way to Grand Hyatt Erawan. If you’re considering staying for just one night due to an early arrival, I would recommend finding accommodation near the city center. The wait for a short-distance taxi at the airport can be quite long. While there are plenty of taxis in the city, they are less frequent for short-distance trips. It’s beneficial for both your physical and mental well-being to arrange a pick-up from the airport and book a nearby affordable hotel such as Canalis Hotel, which serves as a gathering place for Korean travelers arriving at dawn. I had the chance to meet fellow travelers at the hotel reception.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast near the hotel, I departed for Grand Hyatt Erawan using a pre-arranged pick-up service, which worked out wonderfully. My family and I were all highly satisfied with our stay at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel. Canalis, on the other hand, served its purpose as a place to rest. Of course, it was clean and tidy.

Upon checking in around 2:00 AM, we were told that we needed to wait for approximately one hour for the room to be cleaned. So, we took the opportunity to visit a nearby market called Jatujak and had dinner at the hotel lounge. The food was delicious, and it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy a drink. The 2-bedroom suite we stayed in was truly impressive. I initially made a reservation for 3 nights out of our 6-night stay, and now my family is giving me a hard time for not booking all 6 nights at Grand Hyatt Erawan.

We have made reservations for the next two days at Diora Spa, as my daughters expressed a desire to have a foot massage. However, without a prior reservation, we decided to visit Diora Spa on a walk-in basis. It was fully booked, so if you can predict your massage needs, I recommend making a reservation. There are many Koreans on the streets here.

I bought some Chang Beer from a nearby 7-Eleven, but it seems that the mangoes I ordered online have arrived. They are perfectly ripe and incredibly refreshing. I am looking forward to enjoying them with my family.

I wanted to share my gratitude as soon as I received them. By the way, make sure to keep the taxi driver’s printed voucher. I absentmindedly left my phone in the taxi, which caused some tension with my wife and daughters. Thankfully, after calling the number on the printed voucher, I was able to retrieve my phone. Thank you to the driver.

Note: Accommodation costs are not mentioned in the review. Therefore, I cannot provide a conversion into USD.

If you find yourself staying at Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok, there are several nearby tourist attractions and activities that I would highly recommend visiting. After all, you wouldn’t want to miss out on exploring the vibrant city center during your stay.

One of the must-visit places near Grand Hyatt Erawan is the famous Jatujak Market. Located just a short distance away from the hotel, this market offers a bustling atmosphere and a wide array of products to choose from. Spend a few hours there, browsing through unique crafts, clothing, and delicious street food. It’s a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture.

For those seeking relaxation and indulgence, Diora Spa is an excellent choice. You’ve already made reservations for the next two days, and I highly recommend it as well. While their foot massages are popular among visitors, the spa offers a wide range of treatments for you to choose from. If you’re looking to unwind and rejuvenate, this is the place to go. Just remember to make a reservation in advance to secure your spot, as it tends to get booked quickly.

If you’re interested in experiencing local cuisine and enjoying a drink, you have plenty of options near Grand Hyatt Erawan. Explore the streets and try some of the mouthwatering Thai dishes from street vendors. Don’t miss out on trying authentic mangoes, as they are known for being refreshingly sweet and juicy. There are also convenience stores, like 7-Eleven, where you can find a variety of local snacks and beverages, such as Chang Beer.

Lastly, Bangkok is known for its vibrant nightlife. Take the opportunity to explore the city’s lively entertainment districts, such as Silom or Khao San Road. These areas offer a myriad of bars, clubs, and live music venues, where you can immerse yourself in the energetic atmosphere and enjoy an evening of fun and excitement.

In conclusion, whether you’re interested in shopping, dining, relaxation, or experiencing the city’s vibrant nightlife, Grand Hyatt Erawan’s location in the city center provides easy access to a variety of attractions and activities. Make the most of your stay in Bangkok and enjoy everything this captivating city has to offer.
