Bangkok trip The Lazy Traveler’s Diary Part 3 Featuring Grand Hyatt Erawan

Review of The Lazy Traveler’s Diary Part 3 Featuring Grand Hyatt Erawan

I recently made a reservation at the Grand Hyatt through the Taecho Club website, mainly because I heard great things about it from Taecho. Initially, I was hesitant as I didn’t consider staying in the Siam area, since there are plenty of shopping malls in Korea and luxury brands are widely available. However, my husband and I decided to go for it and we were not disappointed. We booked a club room, which was only slightly more expensive than a regular room, and it turned out to be an excellent choice.

The room was surprisingly spacious, much more than I had anticipated after watching Taecho’s YouTube video. It was impeccably clean and didn’t give off the impression of being outdated as mentioned. The bathroom was also wonderful, with ample storage space. The bedding was just right, with the perfect firmness to support my back, which was a priority for me due to my back condition.

One of the highlights was the happy hour at the hotel. The food was absolutely delicious. Unlike some Korean hotels that serve frozen and fried food during happy hours, the quality here was outstanding. My husband particularly enjoyed the chef personally sprinkling cheese on his Bolognese pasta. As for me, the tuna with sesame seeds wrapped in seaweed, known as tataki, was incredibly tasty. It had the ideal level of spiciness for someone like me who prefers milder flavors. The servers were attentive, offering recommendations for drinks and promptly providing excellent service. It was truly a flawless experience.

The swimming pool was another great feature. The water was crystal clear and the pool area was well-maintained. The staff members were extremely friendly, and the sauna was also enjoyable, although due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we had to shower in our room. I highly recommend trying the sauna once the pandemic is under control. The overall cleanliness and organization of the pool area added to the pleasant experience.

All in all, I would love to visit the Grand Hyatt again. The hotel’s impeccable service, tranquil atmosphere, and cleanliness truly exemplify its five-star rating. It was the perfect destination for a relaxing vacation before returning to Korea. I am grateful to Taecho for recommending this wonderful hotel.

Note: For reservations of more than two nights, it is recommended to have breakfast at the main restaurant on one day and at the club lounge on another day. The lounge provides a smaller selection of food, but each dish is delicious.

The lush garden surrounding the house adds to the tranquil ambiance.
