I recently arrived in Hua Hin after a long 6-hour flight from Jeju on Jeju Air. Despite the flight duration, I had a pleasant experience in Bangkok, where the immigration process was relatively quick and smooth. As we were a family, we were given separate assistance, allowing us to exit the airport promptly. It was raining quite heavily in Bangkok, but fortunately, the rain stopped as soon as we boarded the pickup vehicle to head to Hua Hin. I had intentionally requested a van for a comfortable journey, but unfortunately, we encountered a flat tire just 30 minutes before reaching our destination. We had to wait for about two and a half hours in the vehicle while waiting for the repair team, and it took quite a long time for the tire change to be completed. Despite these minor setbacks, we reached the Ibis Hua Hin hotel at 6 PM, where I immediately had breakfast and fell asleep due to exhaustion.
After checking out of the Ibis hotel, we went directly to the Marriott hotel, where we were fortunate to have our room ready for check-in around 1 PM. Although I have always preferred visiting Phuket and considered it my favorite destination, I have come to realize that Hua Hin is also an excellent place to visit, especially when taking into account the travel time. The weather in Hua Hin is less hot and humid compared to Phuket, and I thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant climate. While I plan to return to Phuket for my next trip, as there are still many hotels there that I haven’t had the chance to visit, I am glad to have experienced the beauty of Hua Hin. The only challenge I faced during this trip was the travel time, as it was a bit tiresome for my young child.
Overall, I must say I am enjoying my time in Hua Hin immensely. It feels like a little piece of paradise at this very moment. The sandy beaches of Hua Hin are particularly beautiful, with fine and powdery sand.
When staying at the Marriott hotel in Hua Hin, there are several nearby tourist attractions and activities that I recommend for you to explore and enjoy. Firstly, the Hua Hin Beach is a must-visit destination. With its pristine sandy shores and crystal-clear waters, it provides a tranquil and picturesque setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Take a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, build sandcastles with your children, or simply bask in the sun while enjoying the gentle sea breeze.
If you are interested in exploring the local culture and history, the Maruekhathaiyawan Palace is worth a visit. This beautiful golden teakwood palace was once the summer residence of King Rama VI and showcases exquisite architectural craftsmanship. Wander through the palace grounds, admire the elegant design, and learn about the royal history of Thailand.
For a unique and memorable experience, I recommend a visit to the Hua Hin Night Market. This vibrant market comes to life in the evening, offering a wide array of local street food, handicrafts, clothing, and souvenirs. Immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere, try some delicious Thai dishes, and haggle for unique finds to take back home.
If you are a nature enthusiast, a visit to the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is a must. Translated as “The Mountain with Three Hundred Peaks,” this park boasts stunning limestone karsts, caves, and pristine beaches. Take a boat tour to explore the park’s majestic caves, go hiking to enjoy panoramic views, or relax on the secluded beaches surrounded by nature’s beauty.
For a fun-filled family activity, consider visiting the Black Mountain Water Park. This expansive water park offers thrilling slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, and a children’s play area. Spend a day splashing and playing in the water, enjoying the numerous attractions and amenities offered at the park.
Lastly, golf enthusiasts will be delighted to know that Hua Hin is known as the golfing capital of Thailand. The area is home to numerous world-class golf courses, such as the Black Mountain Golf Club and the Banyan Golf Club. Tee off amidst breathtaking scenery and enjoy a memorable round of golf.
With its beautiful beaches, rich history, vibrant markets, natural wonders, and recreational activities, Hua Hin offers a diverse range of attractions and experiences for every visitor. Whether you seek relaxation, cultural immersion, or adventure, Hua Hin has something to offer that will surely make your stay memorable. Enjoy your time exploring and discovering the beauty of this charming destination.
