Review of Taejo Pickup and Grand Hyatt Erawan 2 Nights Experience with a Toddler

I planned my trip to Bangkok and Pattaya from July 10th to 15th, 2022. During my stay, I booked all my reservations through Tacho, and it was a perfect trip except for the incident of losing my baby’s passport.

Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport, I was greeted by a driver holding a sign with my name on it. We traveled comfortably in a spacious VIP van, which was more than enough for four adults and one baby. Since I was traveling with my parents and the baby, instead of taking a taxi or using Grab to get to the hotel in Bangkok, I decided to reserve the VIP van, including a car seat. Thanks to this, we were able to comfortably transport the baby in the car seat, without the hassle of finding a taxi at the busy airport. The journey to the city center took about 30 minutes, and we could peacefully put the baby to sleep during the ride.

I highly recommend booking a private vehicle from Tacho for those traveling with family. I also booked a transfer from Bangkok to Pattaya via Koakiyeowju, and the driver was punctual and even assisted us with ticket communication. Everything went smoothly throughout the journey.

The Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok was our chosen accommodation, and we were quite satisfied with it, especially as a family. I personally liked the charming and slightly old-fashioned atmosphere of the hotel, and despite seeing other families with children, I never felt any disturbance or noise. The hotel had a calm and peaceful ambiance.

Our room had twin beds with an additional baby cot upon request. The bedding set was cozy, and although the baby cot felt a bit narrow during nighttime, we were able to push the twin beds together and sleep comfortably in a spacious area. The baby cot was perfect for afternoon naps.

The breakfast restaurant, located on the first floor, offered various dishes that suited Korean tastes, including kimchi and miso soup. The swimming pool, although we couldn’t fully enjoy it due to the cloudy weather, had a nice ambiance. The water was a bit cold, matching the cooler weather compared to Korea, so we simply indulged in the atmosphere.

Although we didn’t swim in the pool, the pre-booked Ayisawan Spa experience was highly satisfying. Among the various spa brands I’ve tried, the massage at Ayisawan Spa was the most enjoyable. The atmosphere of the spa was like any other hotel spa, but the touch of the masseuse was incredibly delicate, providing a refreshing massage targeting every muscle area. It was the highlight of our stay at the Grand Hyatt Erawan.

On the day of checkout, we discovered the jacuzzi in the swimming pool area and briefly enjoyed it with my baby after having breakfast. The water was warm but not hot, as the weather was quite cool. Although we couldn’t stay in it for long, it was a pleasant experience.

Overall, I am posting this review right after arriving in Korea, and I miss my trip already. The procedures for entering Thailand have become simpler, with the Tileland Pass no longer required, and the ATK test conducted at Suvarnabhumi Airport between gates 7 and 8 on the first floor cost 250 Baht. The process was faster than expected, making me think that it’s worth visiting Thailand again. Please note that children under 6 years old are exempt from the PCR test before entering, but a PCR test within 3 days of arrival is still required.

I received a lot of help from Tacho, and I am extremely satisfied with the recommended accommodation and tours. I have written a detailed review on my blog, which you can find here: [Blog Link]

Thank you for reading, and I will soon share my review of Pattaya, which I visited via Koakiyeowju.

While staying at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok, there are several nearby tourist attractions and activities that I would highly recommend. One iconic landmark that should not be missed is the Grand Palace. Located just a short distance from the hotel, the Grand Palace is a dazzling complex of exquisite buildings, temples, and royal residences. The stunning architecture and intricate details will leave you awestruck. Make sure to also explore Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, within the Grand Palace grounds.

Another must-visit destination is Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn. Situated along the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun is famous for its intricate mosaic designs and its towering pagoda. Climb to the top of the pagoda and enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline and the river.

For an immersive cultural experience, take a leisurely stroll through the vibrant markets of Bangkok. Chatuchak Weekend Market is the largest market in Thailand, offering a wide array of goods, from clothing and accessories to antiques and souvenirs. Explore the maze-like alleys and indulge in some local street food.

If you’re interested in Thai history and culture, the Jim Thompson House is a fascinating place to visit. This beautifully preserved house belonged to an American businessman who played a significant role in revitalizing the Thai silk industry. Take a guided tour and learn about the history of the house and Thompson’s contributions.

For those seeking a more tranquil experience, take a boat ride along the canals of Bangkok, known as the khlongs. This will give you a glimpse into the traditional way of life in Bangkok, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can hire a longtail boat and explore the narrow waterways, passing by quaint houses and lush greenery.

Lastly, indulge in the vibrant street food scene of Bangkok. The city is renowned for its delectable and affordable street foods. Explore the famous food markets such as Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road or the street stalls along Sukhumvit Soi 38. From pad thai and mango sticky rice to tom yum soup and grilled satay, there is an endless variety of flavors to savor.

These are just a few of the many attractions and activities that await you during your stay at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok. Each offers a unique experience and provides a glimpse into the rich culture and history of Thailand. Enjoy your time exploring the wonders of this captivating city!
