Shangri-La Bangkok reviews

Image

This is the Shangri-La Bangkok Hotel, where I stayed satisfactorily for three days on an early summer vacation.

This is the main entrance to Shangri-La, which is shaped like a gentle hill.

At the entrance, you have to go through a facility like an airport security checkpoint.

It may be a safety issue, but I don’t understand why a city hotel would maintain this format.

^^.

This is the lobby lounge.

It is gorgeous and classic, using a lot of marble, wood, and red.

The Long Bar located in the lobby hosts jazz performances every evening and serves afternoon tea in the afternoon.

They said the lobby is very crowded during check-in and check-out times because there are a lot of people.

Perhaps because we had a late check-in and check-out, we didn’t have to wait long or feel any inconvenience.

This is the 17th floor hallway of the Shangri-La Wing.

The building is shaped like a wing, and you can see that the hallway splits into two sides, right? One side has a city view and the other side has a river view.

We chose a balcony room located in the center of the building (heart of the wing) so we were guaranteed a good view.

.

I used the balcony quite often.

It was nice to drink beer while looking at the river at night, and get some fresh air in the morning and evening.

Although it was a balcony room, there was a non-smoking warning that a fine would be imposed if you smoke.

Compared to its age, it was very well maintained and clean, and the carpets didn’t feel uncomfortable at all.

Perhaps because it was a ventilated room, I didn’t feel any of the stale smell that I sometimes see in reviews.

Also, the sound of the air conditioner was quiet compared to its age, so it was fortunate that there were no inconveniences while sleeping.

I heard that it was inconvenient not to be able to charge your phone in bed.

Isn’t it? Is it possible to plug in two USBs at the same time?Look closely at the bottom of the nightstand.

.

Image

There was a hanging clothesline installed in the bathtub, so it was great for drying swimsuits.

(The strong wind blew on the balcony, so it felt like it would fly away.

^^;).

The dryer is hidden in the bathroom vanity drawer.

Night view from the balcony(There are boats coming and going until midnight, and you can occasionally hear music and the sound of motors, but if you close the window, the noise won’t be annoying, so don’t worry.

morning sceneryIt overlooks the breakfast room.

The restaurant tends to be crowded, so if you want to eat quietly, it is best to come as early as possible.

Around 6 o’clock, the blue morning dawnsIn turn, the Icon Siam view on the right, the Peninsula Hotel view opposite the center,On the left, there is a view of Saphan Taksin Bridge.

You can see the train passing by and Asiatique’s round Ferris wheel in the distance.

On the first floor, the breakfast room, pool, and dock are arranged side by side.

The staff are all very friendly.

What is Shangri-La breakfast? It is rumored that it is provided in abundance.

I’m so full that I can’t taste it all.

You can order any type of coffee,Smoked salmon on top of salad greens is delicious.

Because it’s in season, raw mango keeps coming out, and I have to make croffle dessert with 12 flavors of gelato ice cream.

(The ice cream tastes good, and I can see the Mövenpick brand.

It’s not just a rough assortment.

).

outside atmosphereWouldn’t it be nice here if the weather wasn’t hot or humid? However, the breakfast restaurant is very crowded and the spacing between tables is narrow, so you can hear conversations from the next table too close.

(All in Korean.

haha.

We ate in complete silence.

haha).

As it’s Saturday, a new menu appears on the outside side.

Jokbal rice bowl and grilled skewers,Can I eat like this early in the morning? HahaIt doesn’t go as well as I wanted.

But it’s delicious.

The side effect is that you don’t feel hungry all day.

Fruits are fresh.

I was surprised that the watermelon was hard and not soft.

Aren’t Thai watermelons originally a bit soft? lol.

The pool is not big, but the atmosphere is nice.

There are enough beach chairs, but the spacing is very tight.

Rather than a leisurely atmosphere.

lively? lolChildren can play as much as they like.

.

There is a 2.

4m section, so safety guards are always watching.

.

This is Krungthep Wing Pool.

There isn’t a single person.

If you want to rest quietly, you can use this place.

.

Image

Image

I’m confused as to whether it’s the Krungthep Wing lobby or not.

^^;If you pass through the Krungthep Wing lobby and exit through the door on the other side, you can access Robinson Department Store or Saphan Taksin Station directly.

Image

There is a full bar,The place with the red flag in the back is the dock used to go to and from Icon Siam.

It is a bit disappointing that the free shuttle service time has been greatly reduced.

.

Image

Image

Image

On a disappointing night, I have to end it with a drink at the pool bar.

Raindrops are starting to fall.

.

Roads around Robinson Department StoreIt was very crowded so I couldn’t take many pictures.

There are many restaurants, massage shops, food stalls, and fruit shops.

Fruits are naturally cheaper at the street stalls than at Tops Market.

^^.

Sanis Cafe, famous for being hip.

hmm??They say coffee is expensive and tasteless.

Is this what hips are like.

ah.

I don’t know.

lol* Overall review: If I have the opportunity to travel to Bangkok next time, I am willing to visit.

(I want to come and hang out with Hoyeon.

^^)The advantages are all that are listed,The location, atmosphere, breakfast, service, cleanliness, and friendliness were all sufficient for me, and I felt that it had more advantages while being cheaper than the Peninsula across the street, which is often compared.

The downside is actually.

I don’t have any major complaints.

The hotel is so large that it can be a bit crowded overall.

Especially the pool.

hahaAnd.

receiving too much deposit?A deposit of 10,000 baht for 3 nights is a bit.

well, you could say it doesn’t mean much, butThese days, there are many places that don’t accept it.

I’m also curious about Anantara Riverside, which I hesitated until the end.

If there are any members who have been to both, please let me know what you think.

^^It was fun~~~*^^*.
