On the 15th day of my journey, the morning broke. It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed; I am already approaching the end of my trip. However, instead of dwelling on the passing of time, I decided to start the day by having breakfast at a restaurant.
I ordered a refreshing mix of apple and guava juice, along with kimchi fried rice and shrimp wonton soup. Please note that ordering just one item may not be sufficient for an adult male, as the portions are not very large. Despite the bacon being slightly overcooked, I couldn’t resist enjoying the kimchi fried rice. For dessert, I had an iced cappuccino while I savored a vegetable salad mixed with a ratio of 2 parts Japanese dressing to 1 part balsamic sauce.
After returning to my room, I hung a “Please clean the room” sign on the doorknob. Curious about news from my home country, I turned on the TV and tuned in to a Korean news channel. It seems like there’s a heavy snowfall back home, and I worry about my parents who are there. However, since my mother personally called me earlier in the morning to confirm their safety, I can now rest assured.
Just as I was contemplating the tidiness of my room, the housekeeper knocked on the door. I quickly opened it and was pleased to see the room becoming spotless. I expressed my gratitude to the housekeeper for redecorating the room. I then lay back on the freshly cleaned bed, feeling a bit lethargic, and realized that a sauna or hot spring might be the perfect remedy. After researching some options, I decided on a well-recommended sauna in Pattaya. As a substitute for lunch, I had a simple seaweed soup.
Upon reaching the sauna, I quickly changed into the provided attire and headed to the lobby. To my delight, I was offered a complimentary drink, which was very refreshing. It’s interesting to see the staff wearing Santa hats and reindeer headbands around Christmas time. They certainly know how to create a festive atmosphere.
Once the car arrived, I proceeded to the sauna. Currently, they have a promotion of 500 Thai Baht for two people. Unfortunately, a mishap occurred when I realized that the sauna did not provide the change of clothes that I had assumed. This unexpected situation hindered my plans, as I was unable to use the sauna without suitable attire (such as swim shorts). Feeling disheartened, I held back my disappointment and proceeded to my next plan, which was to get a massage at Terminal 21. I opted for the Green Massage, which is a popular establishment and had changed its name from Yellow Massage in July (I found out from an amiable staff member that the owner is Korean).
The massage was satisfying, although one downside was that all the urinals in the men’s restroom were out of order. Surprisingly, they hadn’t been repaired since my arrival in Pattaya on December 9th until yesterday (December 23rd). Apologies for digressing. To overcome my disappointment from not going to the sauna, I decided to indulge in an aroma massage. Despite it being an unusual choice for a man, I still wanted to try it out.
After enjoying a rejuvenating and peaceful hour of deep sleep during the massage, I felt refreshed and ready for dinner. Tonight’s menu consisted of marinated galbi. I called a Bolt driver and traveled a bit farther to a Korean restaurant.
We ordered two portions of marinated galbi, a bottle of Soju, and Singha beer. The combination of beer and soju made me crave for more meat, so we ordered an additional portion. It was a delightful meal, and I appreciated the owner’s willingness to pack up the leftover meat for me. The only minor disappointment was the noodle soup, which fell a bit short of my expectations in terms of flavor. Nevertheless, I left the restaurant satisfied, paid the bill, and returned to my hotel.
With a full stomach and a slightly tipsy feeling, there’s nothing better than taking a refreshing shower and heading to bed. I enjoyed a clean and comfortable sleep, feeling content as the 15th night of my journey peacefully passed by.
