Bangkok trip Back at the Mercure

Review of Back at the Mercure

When visiting Pattaya, Mercian is definitely worth going to more than once! It’s been three years since my last visit, and I must go again without fail. I arrived a little after 5 o’clock, but outdoor seating was already full. Sadly, I had to settle for indoors.

When visiting Pattaya, Mercian isIt's been three years since

The braised pork feet dish was not overly salty and had a tender texture. However, it seemed like the portion size had become smaller. Perhaps it’s just my mistaken perception due to the long gap between visits, but regardless, it was delicious.

I accidentally ordered the shrimp spaghetti, but to my surprise, it was very tasty. However, the portion size was small again.

The seafood platter was slightly heavy, but still tasty. This dish came with a satisfying portion size.

I also ordered the chicken noodles, although I don’t have a photo of it. Despite ordering the large size, the amount of broth was disappointingly small. When I asked for more broth, they filled it up to the brim, like the size of the noodle bowl itself. I was concerned about the additional charge, but it turned out to be complimentary.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, as if I was eating hometown food. I will definitely visit Mercian again next time.

Located in Pattaya, Mercian is a must-visit restaurant that I highly recommend to both locals and tourists. Despite having to settle for indoor seating due to its popularity, the dining experience was absolutely delightful. From the delicious braised pork feet dish, which had a perfectly balanced flavor and tender texture, to the surprisingly tasty shrimp spaghetti, Mercian exceeded my expectations.

While the portion sizes seemed slightly smaller than my previous visit, this could just be a mistaken perception caused by the long gap between visits. Nevertheless, the food was undeniably delicious. The seafood platter, although slightly heavy, was still a satisfying dish with a generous serving size.

Another dish that I tried was the chicken noodles, which unfortunately I don’t have a photo of. Despite ordering the large size, I was disappointed to find that the amount of broth was quite small. However, when I asked for more broth, the staff promptly refilled it to the brim, matching the size of the noodle bowl itself. Surprisingly, there was no additional charge for the extra broth, which was a pleasant surprise.

Overall, the dining experience at Mercian made me feel as if I was enjoying the flavors of hometown food. I am already looking forward to my next visit to this restaurant.
